How do I get there?
Riverhill Himalayan Gardens are easily accessible from major roads and motorways. We are 2 miles south of Sevenoaks on the A225 and just off the A21. Please click here to see further information about where Riverhill Himalayan Gardens is located and ways to reach us via Public Transport.

Is there parking?
Yes, there is plenty of free parking available.

When should I arrive?
Please arrive at Riverhill Himalayan Gardens 15 minutes before your skating session begins so that you have time to get your skates and still enjoy a full 45 minutes on the rink.  If you arrive late you will be allowed on the rink but you may not have your full 45 minutes of skating. Tickets are only valid for the date and session time booked. If you are arriving for Breakfast or Afternoon Tea with Father Christmas or a lunch or party, the doors will be opened to the event marquee at the start time given on your ticket, seating will be on tables of 10, which will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are not transferable or refundable.

What is the skating surface?

Our rink is made of a synthetic material, which means it’s eco-friendly but will be just as exciting as skating on a conventional ice rink. Synthetic rinks are safer than conventional rinks with the added bonus that you won’t get wet!

Are skates available?
Skate hire is included in your ticket price. There will be skates for children and adults available in a range of sizes.
Toddler skates will also be available, these are strapped on over your child’s shoes so please ensure they are wearing appropriate footwear, please no welly boots.

What can I take on the rink?
All bags and bulky items such as large cameras are not allowed on the rink or in the skate hire area. If you would like to take a small handbag onto the rink, we ask that this is a small cross-body bag, and that it is under your coat.
Please note that items left on the rink-side, are left at the owner’s risk.

What do I need to know if I am bringing children?
A child must be under 16 years to qualify for the child ticket price. Children aged 12 years and under must be supervised at all times and accompanied by an adult on the rink. Children aged between 12 and 16 years must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult, however the adult doesn’t necessarily need to be skating, depending on the ability of the children.

During Parent and Toddler Sessions, each child aged under 4 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults can take 1 child under 4 years and 1 child over 4 years onto the rink.

Parents must judge whether their children can skate safely.

During normal sessions a limited number of Penguin skating aids will be available to purchase on a first-come, first-served basis for £4 each. Penguins are for children up to the age of 8 years only.

During the 7pm and 8pm ‘Skating under the Stars’ sessions, Penguins will not be available for hire.

For Parent and Toddler sessions, there is no additional fee for a Penguin, but they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

What should I wear?
The rink is a synthetic ice, so you won’t get wet. There is a roof over the skating rink, so you won’t be affected by rain, however the marquee sides will be open, so dress warmly for winter skating. Wear thick socks for extra comfort and don’t forget your gloves.

Is there food and drink available? 
Yes, our Alpine Café, will be serving freshly brewed tea and coffee, divine hot chocolate, mulled wine and cider, mince pies, light lunches and other festive treats for all ages. Please note, food and drink are not permitted on the rink. Our Alpine Cafe is free to visit.

Can I bring my friends to watch?
Spectators are welcomed at the ice rink and Alpine Cafe free of charge.

I’m a wheelchair user. Can I skate?
Yes! Because our surface is synthetic rather than ice, wheelchair users can skate in their own wheelchairs (electric wheelchairs must be switched to manual whilst on the rink). Wheelchair uses must be accompanied on the ice
by a competent skater, the companion skater ticket is free. Once you have booked your tickets customers should call 01732 459777 with your session details so we can expect you.

All skate tickets are subject to availability.

Can I use my Riverhill Himalayan Gardens Season Ticket?

Riverhill Himalayan Gardens Season Tickets are not valid for ‘Riverhill at Christmas’.  You will need to purchase tickets for skating and Season Ticket holders with skating tickets will be offered a free tea, coffee or hot chocolate in our Alpine Cafe (one free hot drink per adult season ticket or two free hot drinks per a family ticket), please bring your Season Ticket and show your skating ticket to make use of this offer. Season Ticket holders will also be able to use their 15% discount in our festive Alpine shop (excludes purchase of gift vouchers).

What happens if Riverhill Gardens have to cancel my booking?

If a session or event has to be cancelled by Riverhill Gardens due to Force Majeure, your order will be refunded to your card through the stripe payment system, used to take you order.

Skating is a sport with inherent risks. Patrons skate at their own risk.
Tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable.
Ticket holders under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted on the rink.
